This patch is to solve the network driver issue on newer motherboard. Tested in environment with Asus Prime H510M-K. After CentOS 7 installation, network driver cannot be detected by the system. 


  • Download the mod from the article.
  • Transfer to the server. This guide, the mod is transfer to Desktop.
  • Open terminal, type in su to change to admin role and enter admin password.
  • Change directory to Desktop.
  • cd Desktop
  • Change mod permission to 777
  • chmod 777 kmod-e1000e-3.8.4-3.el7_9.elrepo.x86_64.rpm

  • Install the mod

  • rpm -ivh kmod-e1000e-3.8.4-3.el7_9.elrepo.x86_64.rpm

  • After installed, reboot the machine and try to access the network.
