* CentOS re-installation steps provided below are recommended for DCLog Express system. 


Prerequisite

  • CentOS Bootable USB


OS         : CentOS 7.2.115

HDD     : 1 TB


  1. Connect USB to DCLog server and boot-up.
  2. Select 'Install CentOS OS 7' on the next screen.
  3. In CentOS installation page, select 'English, US', click Continue.
  4. Set Date & Time
  5. Under Software Selection, select 'GNOME Desktop', untick all on the right.
  6. KDUMP -> Uncheck the box
  7. Network & Host Name -> Change Host Name to 'dclogcos'.
  8. Turn on Ethernet, and set is as DHCP temporary as we might need internet access to download dependency components.
  9. Under Installation Destination, select the existing disk (the one with 900++ GB) and choose 'I will configure the disk myself'
    • /home -> 50 GiB (Data)
    • /boot -> 500 MiB (System Boot)
    • / -> 100 GiB (OS)
    • /boot/efi -> 200 MiB (Boot)
    • /var -> 776.87 GiB (Media File Storage)
    • swap -> 4000 MiB (System File)
  10. Once completed, click 'Accept Changes'
  11. Click on Begin Installation
  12. During installation, set password for root -> DupliCALL1234
  13. Create New User
    • Username: dcuser
    • Password: DupliCALL1234
  14. OS installation will take some time. Click Reboot.
  15. After reboot, Terms & Conditions screen appear. Insert '1' enter. Insert '2' enter. Insert 'C' enter.
  16. CentOS installation completed. Make sure you are able to login to CentOS using the credential created above.
